The movie Square Parts

Today we watched a movie in english class, its called Square parts. Its about some high school immigrants from Mexico (i think) that builds a underwater robot. And they end up winning a underwater robotics college competition. And this is kinda extraordinary because these 4 guys comes from a very bad high school and everyone thinks the have no future, but then they end up beating technological colleges.

All of these boys had different abilities, and if they had worked separately they would have failed big time. This just shows how people can do some team work and then accomplish really good things. Together they had great qualities and were able to do a great thing. Many people doubted them and even the principal laughed, but yet they showed everyone wrong.

And the fact that these boys managed to even make a so fascinating object as an underwater robot is just amazing. Robotics today are super important for us in every way. Almost everything is based on robotics and machines, and the world is becoming more automized.

A thing that happens not only in the USA, but also in specially Europe, is that immigrants dont have the same options as no-immigrants. If people have a different culture they might not succeed so good as the countrymens. The really shitty high school the boys went to was full off immigrants and a lot of them never got to college. Many of them joined criminality and took easy jobs. And also we could see white americans from the good colleges in the robotics competition. So opportunities for everyone is something the modern society must work on.

A huge problem today is immigration. I have heard that it is over 11 million illegal immigrants in the US, and immigrants from the middle east is coming to Europe. Syrian refugees are traveling across Europe to get to countries like Germany and Norway. The danger they are facing for a taste of hope is huge. Thousands of refugees are drowning in the Mediterian because of overfilled boats. This is one of the world biggest problems at the moments, we need to make a stop to this. We can’t have a world where people can’t live in their homecountrsies without dying. This crisis have to come to an end soon.

Today we are heading to Kolsåstoppen to take som pictures for geography class. Kolsåstoppen is a place in Bærum and it is over 350m over the sea. We have to take a buss to a place then we are going to walk up there. I have never been there before so I’m looking forward to visit it with my class.

Well the climbing up was hard and tiresome, but when we got up the view was really nice. I could see my home, Vardåsen, from there. And I could also see a huge part of Bærum and Oslofjorden. It was beautiful to stand there, but too bad it didn’t last so long.

On the top of Kolsås there are volcanic rocks from the carbon time (350 million-290 million years years back). We also saw a lot of big rocks separated from the mountain just laying on the ground. There was these kind of rocks everywhere all the way up to the top.

Primeminister Erna Solberg at visit

Today, Norway`s prime minister Erna Solberg visited our school. Ana is the leader in one of Norway`s most popular parties: Høyre. Høyre is like the England`s conservative party. We had politics as a theme this week, were we had an election with the different parties. Miljøpartiet de grønne, the team that I support, made it to 3rd place behind Norway`s two most popular parties (AP and Høyre). I have no idea exactly why Erna came to our school, maybe its because its Norway`s best school. I think she wanted to see how we worked, she visited some classes when they had science. Well we had a fun time seeing her come in and everyone was a bit starstrucked.

Roald Dahl`s creepy story

The landlady is a novel by Roald Dahl. Its a creepy one and i really have no idea what he thought of when he wrote this. I think its just so disgusting and unreal, like how can someone stuff humans? This crazy lady, all she does is searching for the perfect boys. I mean what is this? I think that the story is like good in a creepy way, but not good in like a good way. I would say that the creepy plot is good if you like that genre or alike stuff, but if you are like me who likes normal stories, then its just wierd to read. So my opinion is that this story is just unormal and i can’t imagine how Roald could write this. The story had a nice suspense cause it did like build the suspense up really nice. I had read this novel before so I was not like surprised this time. But i actually remember the first time i read it then I was like, wtf? But i could see my fellow students was surprised now so I think Roald made this novel to surprise people. The style is creepy and kinda creepy exiting if that makes any sense, cause it really is just creepy.

Ok guys now me and my class have watched the movie of this novel (the land lady, a part of the series: tales of the unexpected) and I have to say that the movie is insane compered to the novel. In the novel we can’t see exactly whats going on, but we kinda have to imagine it, but in the movie we really see the things that we imagined. Me myself imagined that the other boys was stuffed, but Roald never wrote exactly that. But in the movie they show this, and it made me sick tbh. Like we saw this crazy woman talk to two stuffed boys and then she was about to stuff Billy (the new guy that visited her). I felt disgusted and disturbed, I really did not want to see something like that, so thanks a lot teacher.
